Zion National Park Minimize
Zion National ParkNature at its most eloquent, Zion is a place of towering sandstone cliffs, narrow slot canyons, spectacular arches, intermittent waterfalls and seeping springs. Originally inhabited by both Ancestral Puebloans and Paiutes, Zion received most of its colorful place names from early travelers and settlers. Gentle strolls or strenuous hikes allow exploration of the main canyon, with its emerald pools and wooded valley, its upper reaches of sandstone and open desert, or nearby KolobCanyon, where a 14-mile hike (roundtrip) will take you to the world’s largest stone arch. Zion is definitely a photographer’s paradise. Zion National ParkShuttles run into the Park from Springdale from April through November; private vehicles allowed offseason.
