Utah National Park Tour

10-12 Days

10-12 Day Las Vegas, Nevada/Colorado/Arizona/Utah National Park Activity Tour

This tour is a classic 10-12 day circle Utah tour that begins and ends in Las Vegas, Nevada. The itinerary includes each of the five National Parks within Utah as well as the history of Ancient Puebloan (Anasazi) Indians, and the Mormon cultural history to the present time.

Day 1 - Las Vegas to Zion National Park

(Travel Interstate 15 north, Scenic Byway 9 east/ ~ 3 hours)

Optional Attractions:

Tour Zion National Park and the Visitor’s Center & Museum

See a melodrama at the Bumbleberry Playhouse in Springdale

Enjoy an evening of entertainment at the Tanner Amphitheater in Springdale

Dine and overnight in the Park or in Springdale

Day 2 - Zion National Park to Bryce Canyon National Park

(Travel Scenic Byway 9 east, US 89 north, Scenic Byway 12 east/ ~ 1-1/2 hours)

Optional Attractions:

On Scenic Byway 12, stop in Red Canyon for a photo shoot

Tour Bryce Canyon National Park and the Visitor’s Center & Museum

Fly over the Bryce Canyon National Park in a helicopter

Attend the Bryce Canyon rodeo

Visit the Paunsagaunt Wildlife Museum in nearby Panguitch

Dine and overnight in the Park or in Panguitch

Day 3 - Bryce Canyon National Park Tour of The All-American Road/Hwy 12

(Travel Scenic Byway 12 east/ ~ 1 or more days (optional))

Optional Attractions:

Stop by Ebenezer Bryce’s cabin in Tropic

Photograph Kodachrome Basin State Park and Grosvenor Arch

Explore Devils Garden

Explore Spooky Gulch Narrows, Peek-A-Boo Slot Canyons, and Dinosaur Tracks

4-Wheel Drive to Hole-In-The-Rock

Drive the Burr Trail

Hike the Lower Calf Creek Falls

Tour the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument

Visit Anasazi Indian Village State Park & Visitor’s Center

Tour Capitol Reef National Park

Dine and overnight in Tropic, Cannonville, Henrieville, Boulder or Escalante

 

Day 4 - Continue Tour of Hwy 12 to Capitol Reef National Park to Torrey

(Travel Scenic Byway 12 northeast/ ~ 2 hours)

Optional Attractions:

Visit the Entrada Institute

Attend evening programs at the campground amphitheatre

Dine and overnight in Torrey

Day 5 - Torrey to Arches National Park (Moab)

(Travel Hwy 24 east to Hanksville, Hwy 24 north to Green River, Interstate 70 east, and Hwy 191 south to Arches National Park/ ~ 2 hours)

Optional Attractions:

Visit the John Wesley Powell Museum - G. R.

Tour Arches National Park and the Visitor’s Center

Enjoy an evening program at the campground amphitheatre

Dine and overnight in Moab

Enjoy a movie tour (guided)

Day 6 - Arches National Park (Moab) to Canyonlands National Park

(Travel Hwy 191 south/ ~ 1 hour)

Optional Attractions:

Tour Dead Horse Point State Park

Visit the Dan O’Laurie Canyon Country Museum

Tour Canyonlands National Park

Ride the aerial tram

Enjoy evening programs at Squaw Flat and William Flat campground

Dine and overnight in Moab

Day 7 - Canyonlands National Park to Mesa Verde National Park

(Travel Hwy 191 south to Monticello, Hwy 666 east to Cortez, and Hwy 160 to Mesa Verde National Park -

~ 3 hours)

Optional Attractions:

View Horse Head Peak on the east side of the Abajo mountains in Monticello

Take side trip from Cortez to Mesa Verde National Park

Dine at Far View Lodge in Mesa Verde National Park and overnight in Cortez

Day 8 - Mesa Verde National Park to Monument Valley

(Travel Hwy 666 west, Hwy 191 south to Bluff and Hwy 163 west to Monument Valley/ ~ 2 hours)

Optional Attractions:

Visit the Dinosaur Museum

View the Navajo Indian Reservation

Explore Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park - Jeep Tour

Tour the Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum

Visit the Natural Bridges National Monument

Tour the Valley of the Gods

Dine and overnight at Goulding’s Lodge in Monument Valley

Day 9 - Monument Valley to Lake Powell/Page (Glen Canyon National Recreation Area)

(Travel Hwy 163 south to Kayenta, Hwy 160 south to Hwy 98 north to Lake Powell/Page/ ~ 2 hours)

Optional Attractions:

Cruise Lake Powell

Dine and overnight at Lake Powell/Page

Day 10 - Lake Powell/Page to Las Vegas

(Travel Hwy 89 south to Cameron, Hwy 64 west to South Rimm, Hwy 64 south to Williams, Hwy 40 west to Kingman, and Hwy 93 north to Las Vegas/ ~ 4 hours))

Optional Attraction:

Good opportunity to view the Grand Canyon South Rim
